The Dreaded First Blog

Hey there!

Ready for the awkward “first post” that all new bloggers have to suffer making? Yes? Good, that makes one of us. Well, I have created this blog for my friends and family as a way for them to know what’s going on in my life even at times when I’m far away from them. This blog is in some ways going to be like an online diary. It’s going to be about things that happen in my life that hold some significance for me, as well as some thoughts and insights on certain things that I feel need to be blogged about. You’ll find some poetry, maybe a few excerpts of stories I’m writing (if you’re lucky 😛 🙂 ), and maybe a pic or two of kittens. Just because. Some of my blog posts will shock you, or appear to come out of no where. Why? Two possible reasons: 1) I’m random, 2) I typically don’t tell a lot of people a lot of things. It’s nothing personal. It’s just that I go through different stages in my life, and I talk to whoever is around when I go through them. (Hence the blog; it kind of helps break the cycle in a way and keep everyone on the same page as far as “how’s Desi” is concerned.)

I consider my life to be a journey. Sometimes the destination changes, but my goal along the way never changes: to be who God created me to be, and use all my might, all my mind, all my heart, all my soul, and all my gifts to worship Him and make Him known where ever I go.

Maybe it’s the Carthage atmosphere, or maybe it’s something totally different, but I have grown quite sassy over the past few years. Unfortunately, this blog doesn’t come with a sass or sarcasm font, so hopefully you’ll be able to realize when I’m not being serious. If not, well, I guess we’ll cross that bridge when we get to it. Please also note that I can be very blunt. (You have been warned.)

Well, for now, I think that’s it. Stay tuned for more updates. I’ll try to do this once every two weeks. I welcome comments on my blog, but I also reserve the right to delete them upon my discretion.

Have a blessed day and remember: you are loved!
